The 2026 Lindsay Milk Run is on the 'Moo've!

Our annual Lindsay Milk Run 5K, 10K and 500m Kids Fun Run event will take place on Sunday July 26, 2026 at the Lindsay Recreation Complex. Registration for this udderly awesome event will open Saturday January 31, 2026.

  • 10K starts at 8am
  • 500m Kids Fun Run starts at 8:10am
  • 5K starts at 8:20am

Race Bib Pick-Up Times:

Race Bib pick-up will take place at the Lindsay Recreation Complex located at 133 Adelaide Street South in Lindsay at the below dates and times. Please have your bib number ready!

  • Saturday July 25, 2026 from 9am to 12pm
  • Race Day (Sunday July 26, 2026) from 6:30am to 8am

5K - Registration fees from January 31 to March 31, 2026 $40

Important: No registrations will be accepted after July 22, 2026, or on race day. Registration will close once the event is sold out.

Registration Policies:

  • All entry fees are non-refundable.
  • Transfers are permitted through through Race Roster until June 20, 2026 (transfer fee applies).
  • No transfers will be permitted after June 20, 2026.
  • Team registration deadline is Wednesday July 1, 2026 at 4pm.
  • No changes or additions to teams will be accepted after this deadline.

5K/10K Team Division

  • Teams must compete in either the 5K or 10K. All team members must be registered for the same distance.
  • Teams must consist of 4 to 12 participants.
  • Team members are also eligible for individual awards.

Team Prizes:
Prizes will be awarded to the fastest 5K and 10K teams overall, calculated using the average time of all team members.

Inclement Weather Plan:

While we can plan many aspects of race day, weather is beyond our control. Participant safety is always our top priority.

Weather Communications
Updates will be shared through our Kawartha Lakes Parks and Recreation Facebook Page  and the PA system on race day.

Race Day Decisions
The Race Director, in consultation with emergency services, may delay, modify, or cancel the event due to unsafe conditions.

If severe weather has not cleared by 8:30 AM, the race will be cancelled.

Light rain will not cancel the event.

Lightning Policy
Visible or reported lightning will result in a minimum 30-minute delay from the last observed strike.

 

Event Weather Alert System
Alert Level Flag Colour Event Conditions Recommended Actions
Extreme Black Event cancelled/extreme and dangerous conditions STOP participation and follow official instructions
High Red Potentially dangerous conditions Slow down, follow instructions and consider stopping
Moderate Yellow Less than ideal conditions Slow down and be prepared
Low Green Good conditions Enjoy the event and stay alert!
  • Event officials may decide to shut down the course after the race has started if weather conditions deteriorate. In this occurrence, a red flag would be placed at all Water Stations located along the route, and volunteers would advise the race course has been shut down and the race would not resume. Participants would then be advised to seek shelter.
  • Volunteer course marshals and route personnel will be released from their positions in the event of the race being canceled.
  • All entry fees are non-refundable. Fixed costs are incurred whether the race is held to completion or not. In the event of a full cancellation, registered participants would still receive their race t-shirt, bib and finisher medal.

5K Age Divisions:

14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+

10K Age Divisions:

19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+

  • Top three overall finishers (male and female) in both the 5K and 10K
  • Top three finishers in each age division for both races
  • First-place teams in the 5K and 10K
  • All participants receive a finisher medal upon completion.

Participants and spectators will be able to view Milk Run results live and in real time from their own smartphone or tablet! Results will be available via the Sportstats website

Are dogs allowed?

Only service animals are permitted on the course. We ask that all participants and event attendees leave their four-legged friends at home on race day.

Are strollers permitted on the route?

Yes, we permit strollers on the route. We ask that all participants with strollers stay to the back of the start line and be mindful of other participants.

Why is the event called the 'Milk Run'?

Our event adopted the name 'Milk Run' due to our longstanding event partnership with local dairy producers.

Is this event an official timed run?

Yes, both the 5K and 10K division are official chip timed events.

Can walkers participate in the event?

Yes! we welcome participants of all levels. Participants who are walking the route are reminded that the route is closed for 90 minutes; after which time we ask that any remaining participants on the route take to the sidewalk and proceed with caution obeying the rules of the road.
